Bologna: university town
From the dropping off point by coach, it is possible to see the tombs of the “Glossatori”, the great professors who have left their mark on the university of Bologna, the oldest in the western world. It is also possible to visit Palazzo dell′Archiginnasio, first permanent home of the University until its suppression during the Napoleonic wars, and Palazzo Poggi, seat of the Institute of Science since the beginning of the XVIII century, and centre of scientific research today. Since the beginning of the XIX century this building has been the seat of the university of Bologna. In 2009 the museum MEUS, was inaugurated, a museum dedicated to the life of a student over the centuries, up to the period of ′68.
