Miracles in Ferrara

A historical/religious itinerary exploring miraculous events in Ferrara, from the holy liquid which springs from the tomb of Beatrice Este in the ancient    Benedictine convent of Sant′Antonio in Polesine, to the basilica of Santa Maria in Vado, site of a miracle which took place on Easter Sunday in 1117. While the priest was saying mass, the communion wafer broke and blood spurted onto the walls of the chapel where traces can still be seen today.
The tour continues to the closed order of Corpus Domini where saint Catherine Vergi spent many years as a nun until 1456 , here the miracle of the bread took place. Nearby is the house where the miracle involving Saint Anthony is said to have occurred, a new born baby testified the innocence of his mother accused of adultery.
