The Este Family in Ferrara
This tour takes in the walls and the “new city” conceived by Duke Hercules 1st the so called “Addizione Erculea” with its gardens and magnificent noble palaces including the famous Diamond Palace. 
Reaching the Este Castle, symbol of Ferrara, we then proceed towards the cathedral, in the square, facing the Cathedral we can admire the statues of members of the Este family.
As an alternative to the Castle it is possible to include visits inside other famous Renaissance residences: Schifanoia Palace with its famous Hall of Months, or the Marfisa Palace with its beautiful gardens or Casa Romei,home of a wealthy merchant, dating back to the fifteenth century.
